Direct - the full range of digital printing options
The nature of the Direct unit differs from the traditional print - with it, we are not talking about production in the usual sense. The digitally produced selection consists of products in customer communication, direct marketing, and book print-on-demand, as well as Web2Print solutions. And that is not all.
"We create customer- and case-specific customised service solutions. We strive to respond to our customers' requirements in a comprehensive way and assist them in developing their own processes and business."
For instance, Direct offers precise target group communication that customers can use to enhance the effect of their marketing and to cut costs. Marketing elements can also be conveniently combined with invoicing processes and other transaction-based correspondence.
Customer before technology
Direct's production and sales operate both in Turku and Vantaa, where the former Hansaprint Direct Oy was integrated into Hansaprint Oy's other Direct business in early 2010. Electrophotographic technology is used in Vantaa, and inkjet technology is used in Turku. These two methods complement each other well, as inkjet is particularly suitable for large print runs and transaction-based mailing, whereas electrophotography's merits lie in the nearly offset-quality presswork and the wide variety of usable papers.
However, Direct's central business idea is that the customer always comes before the technology. At Hansaprint, we always consider which solutions best fit the customer on a case-by-case basis. Sometimes the solution can be a technology other than digital printing - for instance, offset printing or a hybrid product, where part of the publication is printed digitally and another part is printed in the traditional way. The strengths of digital printing lie above all in short delivery time, flexibility, and the possibility to use changing elements.
Direct's repertoire also includes versatile logistic services. For instance, print-on-demand (printing publications using updated information as needed at the moment) is an important service. In this way, customers can avoid situations where unneeded and soon-to-be outdated product catalogues are kept in stock.
Customer solutions
Direct is also strong in customer-specific projects. When implementing customised solutions, a key role is played by the project manager, who knows the customer's needs and the possibilities offered by the technology. In general, the process requires close cooperation with the customer - a genuine partnership. After the customisation project, the production department takes more responsibility for both producing and developing the solution. We often also utilise our IT expertise to implement online services and automation, as well as the expertise in digital marketing of our affiliate Nitro.
One of Direct's key objectives is helping customers make the most of their own customer accounts - to maintain existing customers and to acquire new ones. There are many tools to accomplish this. Managing and analysing customer information play a key role, and these functions are implemented with the help of partners. A suitable target group can be identified even from a large mass of addresses to provide the target group with the information specifically relevant and interesting to them.
